Wanting to buy an #SBC for the first time since #RaspberryPI loudly hired a cop. What are the best alternatives?

You need to list your use case - wall or battery, with display or headless, graphics intensive or not, storage types, price range, size range, thermal env - (fan/not), real-time needs, and OS preferences.

The RPi family has the best mobile performance to power ratio and largest user community of the SBCs, but if mobility/power is not a factor then performance/price can favors other boards, but the user community size also goes down.

@cyclical_obsessive wall power or PoE, headless, additional storage beyond booted microsd not needed, can have a fan, Linux. Ethernet. It will sit on my desk with a camera or two hooked up to it.

@eksb @cyclical_obsessive OK, yeah, CSI stuff is better than random USB :) You should be able to find something rockchip based that meets whatever you're looking for. The Pine64 people have a few boards, other smaller groups do too and as you've probably seen there's many fruit-pi things.
