And there it is. The promised ‘vote on subsidies in december’ that the 6 dems cancelled the shutdown for. We all new what the outcome would be.

Fucking copium, my dude. My family has snap benefits and medicaid, and it would have been in my best long term interests for the government to stay shut down until the republicans caved and let the democrats help people. It was going to be a hard couple of months, but I was hoping my reps would have the stones to fight for their constituents, instead of rolling over (as is tradition) and letting the republicans have another win and take more from the people who have the least.
But hey, good thing they thought of the best interests of the economy and wall street. They’re the real ones hurt during these shutdowns. 🙄
It’s a Republican ass mentality to say it serves me me me. If the user had said it was for the greater good because of subsidies and Trump and what not, I wouldn’t have left the comment I did. But they said it serves me me me and they don’t care about any of the people genuinely affected by the government shutdown.
The opinion is not republican, but the behavior is 100% republican.

You’re turned around here bro, we all wanted the shutdown to continue so we could continue to have affordable healthcare, we wanted it for everyone, the wording above is throwing you because it’s one person saying that the shutdown was something that could have benefitted them, but it’s not a matter of selfishness, it’s literally a broad, life-saving program. (The ACA tax subsidies.)
If you were against the shuttdown… well it must be nice to afford premium healthcare or be on someone else’s policy.

I think you’re making significantly more out of my comment than what was actually said. I responded to a guy saying “me me me” with “you sound like a different group of people that also say me me me”. Any deeper meaning you are giving to that comment is on you.
