the g in gobject stands for glib, and the g in glib stands for gtk, and the g in gtk stands for gimp, however the g in gimp stands for gnu, so really the g in glib stands for gnu, but you shouldn't confuse it with gnulib, which is developed by the gnu project, who shouldn't be confused as the developers of glib, which is the gnome project, in which the g also stands for gnu
@hailey
As I understand it, gnu stands for gnu, not unix, which means the g resolves as "not unix".

@androcat The name “GNU” is a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not Unix.”

The GNU Operating System and the Free Software Movement

Since 1983, developing the free Unix style operating system GNU, so that computer users can have the freedom to share and improve the software they use.

@amszmidt

Hence my joke.

In math "x=not-y" means x can be replaced by not-y, which means almost any "g" in a linux acronym ought to be replaceable with a "nu"

@hailey

@androcat What joke? That is not what GNU means, and how we define in English, not Math. *plonk*

@hailey

@amszmidt whoosh: the toot: the movie: the musical

@dngrs *standing applause*?

Loved the quip about "reply guys", say absurdly false things, defend it as a joke, and then toss out insults...

@amszmidt I'm here all week!
@amszmidt in case you didn't like my reply ironically: I was making fun of you
