@nek @chrisgeidner Does #Sotomayor really mean what she says? If so, then after the tyrannophiles on the Supreme Court have voted as expected, will she say "The structure of government has been destroyed, I cannot be a part of this anymore!", resign her seat on the Court, and call for revolution?
@dedicto @nek @chrisgeidner Do you really think that is wise?
Will she be able to accomplish anything if she resigns that other people aren't equally well-positioned to accomplish?
On the other hand, if there's any chance that non-fascists will manage to take back some power in 2026 and 2028, wouldn't it be better to have six fascists on SCOTUS instead of seven?
In other words, I do not think Sotomayor giving Trump the chance to appoint another justice would be a particularly wise move.

@jik @nek @chrisgeidner At least one Federal judge has already resigned, believing that, yes, he can do more good by speaking freely outside the system than by continuing to function within it — using his history as a judge to lend credibility to his words. Those words would not have the same impact coming from someone who had never been a judge:

If #Sotomayor were to resign in protest, it would take that impact to a new level entirely. If she stays, it will mean she believes the structure of government hasn't really been destroyed yet, despite her hyperbole — maybe endangered, but not actually destroyed. You must think the same, if you think it actually matters whether the fascist majority on the Supreme Court is six or seven.

I'm undecided as to which approach is correct — Judge Wolf's resignation, or Justice #Sotomayor's perseverance.

Reagan-Appointed Federal Judge Resigns to Speak Freely Against Trump

“Day after day, I observed in silence as President Trump, his aides, and his allies dismantled so much of what I dedicated my life to,” Mark Wolf wrote following his resignation.

@dedicto @nek @chrisgeidner I disagree with what you think my words imply I "must think," but I see no value in discussing it further with you, given the rigidity of your thinking.
