did you know pixel artists used to be amateur demonologists. they would arrange the pixels into subtle "summoning circles" that beamed demonic energy straight into your eyeballs, giving the viewer a frisson of danger and excitement. it was just a natural consequence of working with CRTs. unfortunately this practice fell by the wayside as demons abhor a flat panel display. the newer technology just doesn't compare.
