More #opensource projects should have some kind of #thankyou license like #mailcow does with their "SAL" (Stay Awesome License), so that small businesses or home users could fund software without having to buy a premium license that is usually expensive and/or has more features than one could possibly use.

I know, we have github sponsors and kofi etc, but "bigger" opensource projects mostly don't have that option and only refer to their pricing page..

On top of that: I'd much prefer not to pay micro$oft for their fund collection services, however small their margin might be.

Now I had to look it up:
No fee for personal accounts, up to 6% fee for organization accounts.
