Best terminal these days? Plain old mac? Warp? Ghostty? iTerm? Something else? I'm looking to switch from plain old mac. I use ohmyzsh already so I don't need anything it can handle.
@jnunemaker Ghostty. It's fast, and it's pretty. Like many of the other commenters I most often use the terminal inside my editor (Cursor).
@jnunemaker I just use whatever it is Zed's shipping these days...
@jnunemaker Ghostty when they have the quick terminal and tty thing fixed. See FAQ. Until then, Wezterm.

@squarism @jnunemaker Searching in a buffer is something I use regularly and would like before I can really use ghostty too. Seems a weird omission to me 🤷

Hadn’t seen wezterm, will take a look!

@squarism @jnunemaker ooooh Ghostty actually merged this last week: https://github.com/ghostty-org/ghostty/pull/9756
GTK: Search UI by mitchellh · Pull Request #9756 · ghostty-org/ghostty

Fixes #189 This adds the UI for search to GTK. There is still polish to be done in follow-ups but this makes search work well with GTK to start! AI disclosure: Believe it or not, almost this entire...

@jaredmoody I have switched back to ghostty for about two weeks and it's equivalent in functionality to iTerm2 while being faster. Thanks for posting the Search UI update, it had me take another look. ⭐

@jnunemaker my current terminal is #GhosTTY by @mitchellh

It's pretty nice and fast, the terminal worries about terminal stuff and few thing else, which I do appreciate. GhosTTY has GPU-based code.

so I went from: native-with-OS → #iTerm#Kitty#Alacritty → Ghostty

@jnunemaker iTerm has been my standby for a long time now.
@jnunemaker I see no mention of #Alacritty here. I switched to it form iTerm2 (which I had been sponsoring and using for years and years) when iTerm2 introduced AI features.
@jnunemaker still use iTerm. Wanted to try Ghostty but saw a bunch of reports that it crashes. So postponed experiments.
