The first fire in the Morsø. It needs to be broken in; first with kindling, then more kindling, then with kindling and a small log. Been waiting since September for the inspector to inspect the installation but he still hasn't come by and we're cold. We're home today and it's a small fire so figured it is safe to start the breaking in process. #WoodStove #Morsø #fire

Charles Dickens wrote other Christmas stories that were overshadowed by A Christmas Carol. One of my favourites is, Cricket On The Hearth. I have a little cast iron cricket I bought at the Brimfield Antiques Fair and I keep it toward the front of my fireplace. When I opened the Morsø, to stock it with kindling, what do you think I found there? A little cricket had made his way inside. Unfortunately he was dead but I left him there as a good omen to the house spirits for our little wood stove.
