I think the lack of reaction to Liquid Glass this year is proof that /most users don't care/, and that Apple could and should do larger and more-sweeping redesigns more often, rather than letting bad decisions stick around for a decade. macOS has seen through four different design languages since iOS 7 came out (tail end of Lion, Yosemite, Big Sur, and Tahoe)
