One time one of my colleagues, tech support engineer, was asked to decommission a retail spot on New Year holidays - because the lease ended in Jan 1st. So he was asked to shut everything off, disassemble the cash register, the shop server, the DVR and leave it to be picked up by movers arriving later.
He didn’t like the idea but also he couldn't refuse so he came. Slightly drunk. He found the shop, told the shop assistant they were closing, she said okay sure, he disassembled almost everything and then realized it was not ours. So he just left quietly.
The company does remember him. Heck, it was ten years ago.
