@itsfoss I’ve been using CachyOS for a year and couldn’t be happier.
Since my (not that powered) gaming PC is an all AMD, CachyOS Handheld Edition works really well in there, giving a console like experience.
@d1re_w0lf Nice to hear, the CachyOS folks have done a great job. πŸ˜„
@itsfoss Indeed.
I end up deleting the windows partition from there.
@itsfoss statcounter is vibe statistics. It's not reliable in any meaningful way
@itsfoss cachy growing while poeple don't know about Tumbleweed.I was one of them..
@itsfoss How long do we think before the first company comes out with a game with native Linux anti-cheat?
Do you think people will accept it?
@libreovergratis @itsfoss native linux anticheat already exists (eac provides one, there are others)
@libreovergratis @itsfoss don't worry, it's fully userspace so it can't muck about your whole system
@libreovergratis @itsfoss oh there's also VAC and BattlEye too, which both have native linux userspace variants
@libreovergratis @itsfoss and TF2 has had native linux anti-cheat for a while (VAC) so

@qwertydotplus @itsfoss TBF I knew about VAC but I don't usually count it in with the other anticheat software as its not nearly as inavsive.

Good to know that Linux anticheat runs in userspace generally, not that I would even remotely consider gaming on any platform I want to be 'secure'.

@itsfoss who are gaming in Linux ? If you wanted you could have bought rtx 4050 laptop with it and has actually a game in it not candy crush
