ope, guess its about that time
guess you can't just make a product based on "stealing everything" and then tell businesses that you won't steal from them.
idk how anyone could be such a sucker that they would believe an SLA that guaranteed that an AI company would not train on user data. "Sure we will just sacrifice competitive advantage in this product that is totally dependent on exclusive data sources by not doing something that you would have no way of proving we did"
Its illegal, sure, but when the size of the bet is "half the growth in GDP from the biggest companies on the planet" there's no way the downside of breaking the law outweighs.
@jonny that tends to be the sort of business plan that only works when there are explicit threats of violence attached to it
@jonny you know, if the local mafia or whatever promised to protect people from generative AI corporations, I'd pay the protection money
@aud
This wins as my all-time favorite AI quote.
@jonny
@jonny at last, it begins
@jonny I wish my company would do that instead of encouraging their use...
@jonny Imagine how fast businesses would block AI use if the users had to pay the electrical bills to run the data centers that run the AI.
@LukefromDC
Coming soon to an investor backlash near you
@jonny Imagine you lied about everything in the job interview because you thought "I will just vibecode everything" and now you're in this situation. Not sure what to say about this, I'm speechless because of the stupidity.
@jonny wow, that sucks. here's a novel workaround: maybe do your job
@jonny Where do they work, and are they hiring?

@jonny

the best part is this post was prolly written by the CEO of a major corporation 🤣
