@benroyce
It is AI-generated slop. The carrot skrew has 6 turns according to the video, but the tool making the skrew only made four turns.

All trending videos on my mastodon feed turn out since september to be Artificial Intelligence generated.

not only is it real, but your post is a serious problem

the threat from AI is not being tricked that something fake is real

but being so filled with doubt, we don't believe anything at all, even real photos and videos

again, the issue with the rise of AI slop is not being fooled, but voices like yours muttering "fake fake fake..." under every post

whether as a troll effort, or pathological distrust

i wrote a thread about the phenomenon:

I remember someone from Germany being very sceptical a picture from 1970s I retooted of British folk fixing a car in the street wasn't AI - in the end he did realise I was old enough to have seen such scenes with my own eyes and familiar with the look of 1970s analogue film stock (my late father was heavily into photography) and the street layouts of Britain of that time - there might have also been a cultural difference, as by 1970s (before he was born) such activities were *already* "streng verboten" in West Germany (they are warned against in "Das Grosse ADAC-Autobuch from that era", so he wouldn't have seen folk fixing cars in the street as a youth..

@vfrmedia @xdej @synapsenkitzler

yeah and the threat with these "fake AI, fake AI, fake AI..." posts under everything is in us not believing in anything, and we just trust our (biased) gut

that is even the point of propaganda:

not to push an agenda, but to fill everyone with distrust of *all* agendas, good and bad

this is just a carrot-cucumber video. zero stakes

but what if it were a video of a wartime atrocity?

the threat from #AI is not tricking us, but training us to believe nothing

@benroyce @vfrmedia @xdej @synapsenkitzler man just find and link to the original source before you repost someone else's content

@nev @vfrmedia @xdej @synapsenkitzler

I found it on social media. I looked for and got the best link I could find, which also doesn't look original. Look in my posting history, I am good with sources. I do some due diligence, I do my best, and I either find one or not

Does that work for you?

Is that good enough for you?

Do you want me to spend 3 months on a source hunt? Hire a private investigator?

Fuck you, asswipe
