Hot water tank broke. Literally when I finished showering. An impeccably fortunate timingβ€”the shower stopped just as I was reaching to turn it off.

The plumber is coming at dawn.

Thank you, universe. πŸ™πŸ’•βœ¨

No running hot water today β€” means no running dishwasher. (And I certainly didn’t wanna cook/clean with freezing cold water) So…

We went out to eat at MuQueCa*, and had fried yucca and plantain+tofu muqueca. I’m very contently stuffed! πŸ˜‹πŸ₯°β˜˜οΈ

Well, the plumber came just before the sunrise, and all fixed up well before the street cleaning (at 8am). Pleasant and efficient guy with Boston accent and all. Very thankful to have running hot water back. β™¨οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ I didn’t know Home Depot opens at 6! Good thing!
@otterX
Congrats on finding something vegan at a Brazilian restaurant! My experience has been that Brazilian food is often one of the most challenging cuisines to find something merely without meat in it. It looks tasty! Don't think I've ever eaten yucca before...

@Blort Right?!! But Brazil is a big country!! It’s actually a seafood restaurant.
I saw the chef/owner of this restaurant showing how she makes their name dish, muqueca, on the local CCTV long ago before we were 100% vegan. That’s how I heard about the place. We were happy to find that they make tofu and/or plantain one! It’s delicious, and stays hot until the last bite, even on a cold day.

Deep fried yucca is like a fancy French fries, and tastes much better than potatoes. I was too hungry to take a photo. Maybe next time.

@[email protected] @Blort This root you call yucca is the same that I mention to you as cassava recently. Two names for the same plant.
@fiery ohhhh! Thank you for telling me. It’s quite delicious!! πŸ˜‹πŸ’•
@otterX Oh no! I hope it's an easy fix! 🀞
@Lorraine Thank you. I hope so! 🀞
