Miles Davis's 1st quintet gets overshadowed by his 2nd quintet. Understandably so. While the 1st quintet's records aren't as groundbreaking as the records he would make less than a year after this recording, they are still incredible.

This version of 'If I Were a Bell' from the Broadway hit Guys and Dolls is so loose and groovy. I love Miles at the beginning, "just play it and I'll tell you what it is later."
