Who is allowed to remember? Which stories find a place in our collective memory and which remain in the shadows?

On December 1 at 6:30 p.m., we want to focus on migrant self-organization in Kreuzberg in the 1980s and 1990s at Lauseria – a time when many comrades organized politically and fought amid resistance and challenges.

The memories and narratives of this period reveal stories that are often not included in the dominant historical narrative.

Whose voices were ignored or deliberately made invisible in the past? What struggles and acts of solidarity shaped the lives of migrants in Kreuzberg, and how did they change the political landscape?

We invite you to dive into these stories with us.

Sevim Çelebi and Garip Bail, two comrades who were active at the time will share their experiences and reflect on the political struggles of the 1980s and 1990s.

An evening that not only evokes memories, but also asks the question of what history we want to carry into the future.
