How to not make the #Atlanta #beltline successful.
@Nundrum Maybe a hot take, but I don't think we should treat the beltline like a tourist attraction.
@dixon @Nundrum I was thinking the same thing. The beltline is a passage, not a destination. If people want to build destinations along the beltline, that's great... and folk can use the beltline as a low-stress way to get to them.
That section of the beltline is near Piedmont park, which is a good destination (and makes the beltline more pleasant)

@DecaturNature @dixon It absolutely is a destination/attraction. That's what makes it good. It brings in the people. It makes the density. It gives businesses foot traffic.

Otherwise it's just a fancy sidewalk and we quite a few sidewalks already.

@Nundrum @DecaturNature I'm not saying it shouldn't be nice, but it should serve the communities it runs through. I would rather see a daycare than a 10th brewery. Everyone I know who lives on the Eastside tries to avoid it at all coats on Saturday and Sunday, which seems more like a failure than a success to me. ESPECIALLY because it's paid for by the taxes and future taxes of those districts. (which is a whole other can of worms)
