I think I’m gonna have to start blocking some gen AI terms when linked with #RStats. I’m really not on board with the idea of them and it’s negatively affecting my mood when I see people diving headlong in to adopting them.

@danwwilson Do it, the whole "gen AI" bullshit is massively over-hyped, its a solution funded by venture capitalists looking for a problem so they can get a Return On Investment and make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

It's all smoke and mirrors and the bubble will burst if not soon then one day.

@danwwilson I have a rule now: if someone in my TL posts about genAI ("I asked chatGPT, claude" etc.), they get muted for a week or two.
I'm still following them (or the hashtag they come from) because I find them interesting but I'm done getting angry every time I see those kind of posts.

So many people have been disappointing on that front. They should really know better.
