8th Wall will be shutting down next year - with platform access shutting down 28th Feb 2026 and all hosting being decommissioned a year later, after 28th Feb 2027.
Maybe it's not all sad news though.
The innovation they managed within WebXR was incredible, I'm hopeful that this will be the start of lots of that innovation being brought into the open source ecosystem for all to access 😊
WebXR still has huge potential and maybe bringing some of the 8th Wall codebase to the wider dev community will accelerate things even further. More eyes. Fresh eyes. More innovation! 😎
