We must not assume that the US has peaceful intentions towards Canada. They want our natural resources.

It would be foolish to depend on a country that has threatened our sovereignty for the weapons we will need to defend it.

The interconnectivity between F-35 jets would become a vulnerability to Canada if the US decides to invade us.

We would be cut off from the network of satellites that the jets depend on, and that would cripple our defense.

Having a mixed fleet of jets gives us more options if the benefits of the F-35 were ever lost.

It would also require a country that wants to attack Canada to train for a larger variety of resistance.

Having just the F-35 means an invader only needs to plan for the F-35.
