Today is International Men's Day, when we celebrate men & boys. This is a🧵about how my sons influence me. #CauseAndEffect
I teach. I wear a mask in school. I've done this 2021-2025. My teenage sons attend a different school, both wearing masks. They've sustained this 2022-2025. There's obviously a connection between the two. #CauseAndEffect
If you follow me, you probably follow me for THEM, not me. Sorry, no photos of them on here. I know you don't follow me for my musical talents! One of them bought this album on CD recently. Fascination Street (Cure cover)
When we decided to send my sons back to school in late 2021, for a 2022 start, we hoped they would be able to wear masks. We knew they would have several advantages that would give them a chance to do this. There are 2 of them. And their Dad masks in school. #CauseAndEffect
Did we know how long they would be able to sustain masking? No. Did we think they would eventually give up? I’ll tell you when the pandemic is over. They've sustained this a very long time. It's not been easy. But they've also sustained me. #CauseAndEffect
Most fathers don't mask. A big reason is that their own children don't wear masks in school, or nursery. Would I still wear a mask if my children had given up? I don't have to answer that, but there's no way I stop before my sons do. #CauseAndEffect
Do my sons wear masks because I do? Do I wear a mask because my sons do? On #InternationalMensDay we celebrate men and boys. Who would you like to celebrate?
