I wonder how hard and expensive is it to improve my soldering skills from basic use of soldering iron at the bottom (solder some wires in the way the connection won't break) to be able to replace the microUSB socket at the top plate.  

I definitely need some more advanced equipment  
But how much and which one.

@witix @lina I think it will if I keep it on for a few hours (if nothing else burns before).
But the heating element is on the top part and there're holes close to the wood. I guess they help with not letting heat quickly reach the wood.

@yura@udongein.xyz You could do that with a TS100 (or the USB-C variant ... TS-80?), some flux from a flux pen for example and solder wick. If you have an electrical stove with the flat cast iron plates (not ceran or the coiled ones), you can also set it on there and gently heat it up to desolder the connector. If it's a one off repair that's less hassle than getting a hot air station and all that stuff.

@yura рекомендую t80 либо t90A(есть еще B вариация, там жало потолще и помощнее, но в A smd удобнее паять, да и твой бп как раз под него)

t80(не P вариант) обойдется в 1к грн. но там кабель придется докупить typec to typec силиконовый. он дешевле и компактнее чем t90 чутка. но есть микро проблемы которые решили в t90.

t90A обойдется в 1.5к грн. лучше брать его.

насчет ts101 или pinecil, они несомненно хорошие паяльники, но: оверпрайс, относительно устаревшие, и с дорогими проприетарными жалами.

тут же, качественных жал можно накупить за чашку кофе.

t80 и t90A это именно с мелким c210 жалом 60w для пайки smd в первую очередь.

но c210 справится со всем остальным вполне.
алекс гайвер каждый год обозревает паяльники, у него были ВСЕ паяльники, и он перешел на t90A.

@yura нет, но у меня на впске мало места, и я уже планирую искать скрипты по удалению старых постов с gts)
просто запомни - T90A

тем более распродажа сейчас, лучше брать сейчас, либо на зимнюю которая будет мб через 1-2 недели

@yura кстати в теории ты можешь аккуратно кусачками с наостренным концом откусить те "сваи" которые идут от корпуса микроюсб, и потом выпаять их по отдельности. и ненадо ничего кроме паяльника.

также на замену можно впаять typec, главное правильный вариант выбрать с какой стороны земля и плюс.
