Sherbert MarcuseMy partner and I have started playing Final Fantasy 7 (the original, in all its blocky, awkwardly-translated glory), and after the first battle with Tifa in our party—when her after-battle animation played for the first time (biiig stretchy)—I felt like I finally Understood something about a lot of nerds 5-10 years older than me. A missing piece of the "ah, that's why y'all're like that" puzzle.
Hm. Aerith is a lot... flirtier than cultural osmosis had led me to expect. Another mystery about the (slightly-)older nerds has been solved.
In a flashback, Cloud's mom tells him he needs an older girlfriend who'll take care of him. (same.)
