The original four members of The Velvet Underground were Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, and Angus MacLise. MacLise was replaced by Maureen Ann "Moe" Tucker before the band's first paying gig and most recordings, though Angus was an original founding member.
Bassist Doug Yule, had replaced founding member John Cale in 1968.
