Personally I really cannot understand why any social focussed platform would allow let alone create LLMs for their network

Somehow it feels like social platforms are the last human frontiers on the internet

If you allow "AI", soon it's bots talking against bots that browse website made by bots to create even more bot content

Looking at you Twitter, Meta and the rest

Like setting your own house on fire...
....while sitting in it

Not even speaking about the terrible environment burden and costs that it brings with it

In a way it feels like the nuclear arms race all over again

"No matter the costs, they shall be first"

Problem is, they won't be the last..

@stux I still suspect this is tied to their interests to dwarf real artistic expression, because art is an enemy for fascism

@stux yeah that’s the goal. Brand bots talking to user bots encouraging interactions with brand in order to boost algorithmic engagement artificially inflating the brand’s marketing numbers and stock value.

It’s IRL “cookie clicker” but for idiots who think that infinite money exists.

Exactly. The entire point of the exercise is to bump engagement up to make the shareholders happy and shelling more money. Know what else increases in size for the sake of being larger? Freakin' tumors, that's what
@stux I mean its mostly bots talking to bots already estimated 45-50% of all social media traffic was bots taking to bots
@anubis2814 On Twitter maybe!
@stux any corporate owned one. I feel like someone needs to make a joke fediverse ai that only gives wrong answers
@stux They are both deteriorating the internet and the LLMs themselves since it's now being trained on data created by itself.

@stux If the point of your website is to connect people, then you need to make sure they are people.

Sadly, the point of most websites is to engage people, hypnotize them into noticing the adverts and direct the common consciousness.

So those ones like the bots.
