little known fact actually
@puppygirlhornypost2 I did consider doing something similar for my front panel USB
@puppygirlhornypost2 you can just push 10Gbps through any old bit of copper, don't fall for Big Cable's lies

@puppygirlhornypost2 @rey man this reminds me of the parallel port DAC I built by soldering a bunch of resistors together

it worked with music trackers and Star Control 2!

@puppygirlhornypost2 show my boyfriend, his reaction "euwghhh, no"

A couple of years ago my friend's computer broke, so I gave him my adm-3a terminal and a 9600 baud modem so he could get on the BBSs. I didn't have a spare serial cable, so he unstrung his electric guitar, cut the strings to length, and wired the teminal to the modem.

He got mad when I explained that modems only needed 3-5 of the wires, not all 25.

@puppygirlhornypost2 I have seen the outputs of enough cheap VGA KVMs to imagine the result
@puppygirlhornypost2 That trick also works to plug an Atari style joystick to the GPIO ports of a Raspberry Pi

I've been using it like that for years.
