sadly, I think my days of running alpine are coming to an end. GNOME without systemd is becoming harder, so I think it's time to give in and use a distro that "just works".
I think I will switch to Fedora or postmarketOS duranium if it's ready by then
Hey, I sent you an email before seeing you were here, but what about Pantheon desktop on Alpine? What are the challenges? Maybe less systemd-demanding than GNOME?

The work to add Pantheon to alpine was slowed down because I mainly didn't have time to add the initial packages to alpine, and secondly because pantheon is known to depend on older versions of mutter, which are not available in aports at the moment.
Did you want to contribute?
From what I see on https://github.com/elementary/gala/pull/2525, they added support for Mutter 49 on Gala, which seems to be the one currently in aport if I am not mistaken.
Would it mean that this problem is gone?

I think my Element/Matrix is configured, but it says that messages are unencrypted when I am on the desktop client, so I hope it does not prevent you from connecting to me.
