iamastudent11At Javon's funeral, the portrayal of the "This boy was sacrificed for their rap music" message really surprised me. I would think that those living lives alongside Javon and the other Corner Boys would understand that they are trying to make ends meet, or even that they would've been in similar situations growing up. This might be ignorant of me, but I figured understanding would be easier for those living in the same community, but that comment makes me think otherwise. #so339
@iamastudent11 While they might be able to agree and understand a bit more, it is also is because of these violent personas that the Corner Boys and other drillers try to show in order to have a rap career that leads to deaths. Not only deaths but other struggles as well, like keeping employment. I think community members know it is a tough situation, but are tired of the violence spreading. #so339
