We need to oppose the European Commission's digital omnibus disaster! We need to oppose it loudly and immediately!

Not only is the leaked proposal an outright attack on our digital privacy rights. The Commission would also set whatever will be left of the GDPR up to fail eventually.

@noybeu has summarized why an how the digital omnibus will harm people, you can read their article here: https://noyb.eu/en/eu-commission-about-wreck-core-principles-gdpr

EU Commission about to wreck core principles of the GDPR

The EU Commission has secretly set in motion a potentially massive reform of the GDPR. noybs first overview of the proposed changes.

@r_alb @noybeu GDPR is one of the most terrible regulations. It had good intentions, but it is too broad and places a significant burden on small businesses. If they simplify it, it will be great. Additionally, if they eliminate the unnecessary cookie banners (not part of GDPR), it would be amazing.

@rstankov
I can see you've read big tech's marketing material.

You're an entrepreneur, right? Don't forget that you're talking about the fundamental rights of those who are paying your bills!

@r_alb Big tech is fine with GDPR. They get occasionally fined, but have the legal and tech resources to handle it.

But it is harder for smaller EU companies. GDPR's intentions are good, but the current implementation is terrible. It is good to admit that something like this doesn't work and update it.

@rstankov
What are you talking about? Both of your statements are just wrong.

@r_alb Which of the 2 or 3 statements do you think are "wrong"?

Just to clarify, by "wrong," are you saying 2 statements are factually incorrect, or are they true but unfortunate?

@rstankov
I'm referring to the two paragraphs of your post as statements. And by wrong I mean that they repeat the usual propaganda with little to no substance.
