Great news that the hero who was critically injured defending passengers during a knife attack on a train last week has regained consciousness. Samir Zitouni is a hero and an immigrant from Algeria to the UK. An outstanding example of what immigrants give to our country.

Mr Zitouni, thank you for protecting while others who are quick to criticize migrants ran away in fear.

May I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

In a just UK you would be in line for a Bravery and service medal.

I sincerely hope that will happen and that others help campaign for it.

@naefool I hope he is awarded the George Cross, and receives a king honour at the same time. Something more than that given to sportsmen, who have been very well paid for their skills. He put his life on the line to save the kings subjects, on a modest salary, he deserves a peerage of some sort.

@epistatacadam I agree he deserves something more than sports people, musicians, actors,etc who pursue their own careers. He put his life on the line and sustained serious injury to protect others.

@naefool I think he passed the good person test, with flying colours. So he's better qualified than most in either house of parliament.
I'm assuming he's not a citizen of one of the Celtic countries, but if he was perhaps we should establish a place for people like him to able to pass comment on the laws even if not to write or block them.

@epistatacadam I'd rather people like him had a day in scrutinising laws than the unelected political cronies in the Lords.
