@dgar this explains it very well how degrees F have some useful applications 😹
Otherwise it is useless for the temperature of anything else 😹
Again I have to argue that it is the only “empirical” system that has a small real life use that makes logical sense. For example, if you have a fever, saying 101 degrees F sounds pretty serious compared to 38.3 degrees C… but that’s just my opinion 😹
@dgar If we could just use Celsius for cooking and working with materials (even kelvin would be great for that in certain circumstances 😹 think liquid nitrogen 😹) and use degrees F for the human body and the weather outside… then… well… I don’t think you need to do conversions if that was the case… imo …?… maybe if you’re working with “room temperature” for a substance but that’s just around 25 degrees C (usually)
@em_and_future_cats hard no to US Customary Units. It’s a horrible mess of a system. 😂
@dgar Ohh the rest of them are total garbage 😹! I’m definitely happier using cm, meters, and km , g and etc… I was just rationalizing how one might go about only keeping Fahrenheit, ditching the others and using the rest of the metric system (including Celsius) for everything else
(I use grams for cooking anymore because it’s simpler and makes more sense 😹)
