I came back from an important gathering and I smelled like cigarettes. I said I will go tomorrow, too, but after realizing how much they smoked in there and as a result of that I stinked, I won't go (The gathering isn't so crucial.). STOP FREAKING SMOKING. IT'S NOT VEGAN AND SMELLS SO DAMN BAD. You want to harm yourself that badly? Then drink vegan alcoholic drinks, stop harming others.🚭 #Screwsmoking #Quitsmoking #Stopsmoking #Nosmoking
Great article I found about cigarettes not being vegan: https://bitesizevegan.org/is-smoking-vegan/ . The horrors non-human animals face don't stop.🚭 #Screwsmoking #Quitsmoking #Stopsmoking #Nosmoking
Is Smoking Vegan?

Is smoking vegan? It’s pretty clear by now that cigarettes are bad for your health, but are they objectionable from a vegan perspective? Let's look into hidden ingredients, animal testing, worker conditions, and more!

@[email protected] plastic is not always vegan [1-4] paper is not always vegan [5-6] inks/dyes/paints are not always vegan [7-8] glues are not always vegan [9] tyres are not always vegan [10] ceramics are not always vegan [11-12] The vegan society vegetarian society and v-label have all confirmed in writing to me in the past couple years that they do not audit product packaging for their vegan certification, so a product can have a vegan society trademark and be wrapped in plastics inks and cardboard all dervied from murder victims bodies In the time since I have emailed hundreds of companies directly to ask them about these materials and got very few positive responses Some companies that have confirmed to me they use all vegan materials in products packaging and shipping. Huel (2024) https://veganhappyclothing.co.uk (2025) ecoliving.co.uk (2025) whogivesacrap (2024) Estrid (2025) BarryM (2024) https://www.thenaturallovecompany.com (2025) many vegan friendly companies refused to investigate and surprisingly many more companies with only a few vegan products have given positive responses. Please help me carry this baton any little contribution helps even if you dont get a positive response. @ambiguous_yelp oh my goodness thank you for this goldmine of information, if you find any other sources about this stuff mentioning something not said in the other sources (Or if you haven't checked, I don't mind!), please send them to me!!! I do lots and lots of research into materials like those specifically (Like, probably accounting to more than 100 hours at this point.) and appreciate any help as I couldn't find much when I searched!!! Curious why you chose to reply to my post about cigarettes, though, are you trying to discredit my point because you claim hypocrisy or?
@Brian No I just saw that you are someone who cares about the vegan status of materials to a similar degree as me.
@ambiguous_yelp oh, OK, love that, yes, I've spent so long looking into this and it's so difficult to tell for goodness' sake (Literally in this case.). It's a struggle (Not anywhere close to what non-human animals have to go through, though, of course.) to try to decide about which things to purchase (Which is why one of my biggest purchases are video games, though with the links about plastic you could say it's fuelling that industry.). I would be up for a discussion about it to see how you think about it as maybe you can help me (Or I could help you, but you probably know about it more than I do seeing the links you sent me.) even more with this stuff cause I have no clue. I actually thought plastic is fine most times, at least with the materials used in the product itself (Because I read the first link you sent and it mentioned using lubricants for the plastic production machinery, which you can't avoid except if you become a dumpster-diving vegan and even then you have the issue of inadvertently showing support for wherever you're dumpster diving. Obviously dumpster diving is not possible in all places either, because those who do it don't just dive in a dumpster that can cut them up with glass or whatever.), but your links are making me reconsider (Still on the first link.). I don't think I could avoid plastic altogether but I would really try, maybe I could actually, if I go to farmer's markets and get everything raw, but then comes the issue of labelling waxes for the fruits and vegetables, which they never do and in supermarkets I don't know if they do always (That's why I always buy packaged with ingredients.) and I don't really trust them to answer honestly if I ask them. I've explored these thoughts in the past and it has led to realizing most humans aren't vegan so I can't avoid everything that isn't vegan, which is why I would really appreciate a discussion about this (If anyone else wants to I'd really like it, too!), maybe I'm missing something or the thought process is not correct.

@Brian We probably have a lot to talk about it sounds like you try your best and put the non human animal victims first and I really admire that

@ambiguous_yelp Yes, these discussions are really big. And of course, they are always first for me and I've had deep thoughts about this stuff already but I could be missing something. Thank you so much for the link!β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβœ¨βœ¨βœ¨πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
@Brian It doesn't look like you've joined the dm yet did something go wrong or have you just not tried it yet?
@ambiguous_yelp Read all the sources linked (Besides for all of the governmental one, I skipped most of it.), thank you so much! Good to note that stearic acid can be used in whatever way (As per the government website, β€œOther.”). Most helpful post on this platform so far probably!!!!!!!!β€οΈβœ¨πŸ’–
