If you bought Death by Scrolling and are enjoying it, please give it a thumbs up on Steam. A lot of people have bought it thinking it's yet another Vampire Surviver clone and it's not so they leave crappy reviews. Death by Scrolling is a very different game for a different audience.
@grumpygamer Esp. the reviews claiming there's no character building because they haven't understood the cards are pretty sad to see people appreciate ...
@grumpygamer it’s a bit sad that games only cost 8 euro these days. I guess I’ll have to buy two or three copies.
@grumpygamer The reviews actually put me off even though I followed the dev cycle pretty closely and was curious how it would turn out.
@raise_project You and a lot of people. It's a fun game, just don't think it's a Vampire Surviver clone.
@grumpygamer I'll jump right in tomorrow and see for myself. Can't imagine it's not fun.
@raise_project If you don't like fast-action and dying a lot as you level your character, don't buy it. I might have saved you $8. But if you like those things and great humor, pick it up. I just cost you $8.
@grumpygamer
That's pretty much my jam. Got my copy. :)

@grumpygamer In short: I'm two hours in and game loop works great, can't confirm most of the negative comments except the one for the music. As a non metal head and someone who is sensitive for game music it is a bit too intense.

Great after work game IMHO.

@raise_project What it the comment about the music? If you don't like the metal, just uncheck it.

@grumpygamer The first comment I read on Steam was that its always the same relatively short music loop.

Found the metal deactivator in the menus. I did not expect that. The alternative tune fits much better, I think.

@raise_project The music is actually a very complex adaptive track. People don't pay attention.

@grumpygamer What they meant is probably that that the music is perceived as repeated pretty quickly and because its so intense, partially, you either click with it or it works against you.

I acfually prefer the music per biome approach but I see that this is a lot more work.

Just some thoughts. :)

@grumpygamer Done! And having hella fun with DBS! Thanks for making it!

@grumpygamer Will it be available on GOG? I'm a customer of that store.

@trinux @grumpygamer +1 to this question

No pinta bien...

@z3r0 No creas.

@grumpygamer
Any way to get the game without using a platform that tracks me?

@grumpygamer, are there any plans on releasing it on GOG (Linux) and/or Nintendo Switch?

Steam is my third preferred platform after those two, so I wonder whether to wait for a later release on either of those two.
