Purple donkey orchids (Diuris punctata) out in heathland on the edge of Croajingolong National Park, East Gippsland, VIC.

Not as many of these beautiful orchids out this spring compared to recent wetter years but still a few plants in bud so might be more flowering later in the season.

@silverdory We have the yellow diuris but they’re all done by the end of September. (Northeastern Vic)
@gordonkerry some of the yellow Diuris can go right through to mid Nov around Genoa / Mallacoota but most had finished up by mid Oct this year without a lot of spring rain.
@silverdory We also get these ones. The spider generally only in September, too, but the hyacinth of course in summer.
@gordonkerry nice one :) Hyacinths are just starting to bud up here ... been pretty dry but still a few showing up.
