i might be a secret resonite player because i start playing gmod sandbox with friends and immediately start fucking around with Player Appearance Customizer instead of doing the normal gmod nonsense
it's probably a fairly different workflow in resonite but here's a me sitting in a pose that doesn't clip into itself (i had to twiddle the bones around)
@numbers simplest way is there are some poser tools folks have made that let you grab your foot and/or hip proxies and drag them around to position yourself. more custom things are on the table also

@qualia ya in PAC what i did was find a base animation (the normal sitting one intended for chairs) and put it under a suitable event to toggle and after that i just selected the relevant bones and gizmo rotated them into place.

the text was actually harder because i had to figure out which bone would make it rotate correctly (constant height over my player position that follows the yaw but not the pitch of my camera) and that's actually two different bones between walking around normally and sitting in a chair or driving a car (which are two different events, so until i truly figure out the logic gate events they're two different instances of the same text object)

@numbers oh funky. does everything have to be a parent of a bone specifically? i have zero gmod experience orz
@qualia bone is just the name of the thing that actually acts on the model's bones, everything PAC does is structured in its own thing (an "outfit" i think) that is unrelated to the model. a lot of things take their origin positions from the model's bones though
@numbers steepling my paws rn
