@katharinehayhoe.com this is of a piece with the one after Sam Altman said GPT4 was like having a panel of Ph.D.-level experts in your pocket and someone replied with something like:

"<noise from pocket> I have more of a comment than a question."

I laugh at this every time I think about it.

I goofed badly and wrote the punchline the wrong way around. But it's an annoying trope of academic conferences (which are usually rife with Ph.D.s) that some blowhard in the audience follows a talk by giving his own little mini-speech during what supposed to be Q&A time.
