My kids have got stuck on a super annoying Minecraft YouTube channel (Chip and Milo).

It's not the worst, but Milo's voice is SO grating.

Can anyone recommend me good, educational, or at least less annoying YT channels about Minecraft? Where maybe they can learn some fun engineering or physics stuff?

They're currently playing via the Android app on tablets, if that changes how relevant a channel is to the way they can play. And they're more about Creative than Survival. Age 5 & 7.

Thank you!

@sarajw

I remember stumbling on this before and thought it was pretty cool - they have some old videos that show how things within Minecraft work too: https://www.youtube.com/logicalgeekboy

Then there are also peaceful build channels (or often called 'no commentary') where you don't have to worry about grating voices at all 😅

They can be quite calm and often showing interesting builds - but perhaps not enough to engage kids

(might be good to send them to sleep though! 😅)

@hejchristian lol noooo screens in bed! Thank you :D
@sarajw That's a solid rule 😅
@hejchristian I don't hold to it myself, mind! But will hold it as long as I can with the kids for their own health... I'm too far gone ðŸĪŠ

@sarajw The peaceful Minecraft videos might be good to send you to sleep then 🙃

My current go to is reading documentation 😂 The heavy eyelids soon come when I start digging into some new CSS feature at midnight.

@hejchristian I need no help, the kids tire us out - I'm currently reading Dune, and while the only dry thing in the books is Arrakis - fiction helps me best doze off ðŸ˜ī
@sarajw Ohh books is a good one yes! Though because I want to read it I fight the sleep, and next thing I know I've read over the same page like 10 times 😅
@hejchristian ha yes, have done that before too. And if I'm getting to the end of the last chapter, I'm kind of f*cked if I finish the book before falling asleep. Then I'm left wistful and awake.
