“This virus causes system-wide injury that accumulates with each infection: brain damage that undermines decision-making, immune dysregulation leading to infections like Kaposi sarcoma and tuberculosis in lymph nodes — the very signatures of HIV-AIDS now rising again — and cardiac injury with accelerated aging.” #CovidIsNotOver #MaskUp

This Physicist Says We Don’t Take COVID Seriously Enough | The Tyee

We downplay the virus at our peril, warns Yaneer Bar-Yam. And children are more at risk than we thought.

@sknob I ran marathons and hiked in my free time before I caught COVID. Now it's been almost three years since I've even had the energy to ride a bicycle. My memory is shot and the brain fog comes and goes, so I'm completely unable to work. I'm now also frequently sick in a way I never was before.
It kills me to think of that happening to children. We know how to mitigate it! 😷
@sharewarewolf i’m so sorry, and angry at how practically everyone has chosen to look the other way. And yes, to think it’s so easy to avoid harming ourselves and others !
