I believe Ufuk acted from a place of immensely poor judgement by platforming DHH, and also from a place of inherent conflict of interest as a Shopify employee in 2025, which ultimately lead to the financial crunch Ruby Central ended up in.

Please consider joining me in publicly asking him to resign from Ruby Central's board immediately.

I do give credit to Ufuk for answering my followup last week and quoting it verbatim.

I just have fundamentally different standards on professional ethics.

@skillstopractice I kept believing outside forces were putting immense pressure on the ED & the board because *no way* could they keep making decisions so dumb throughout this year all of their own volition.

Guess I was wrong? 😭😭

@jaredwhite Don't need outside forces when the threat is coming from inside the building.

I've been an exec coach / management consultant for 21 years. Nobody writes a letter on official letterhead from "The Business" when they want something sketchy done.

They put the right person in the right place to just... nudge things in the right direction and that's how these things are done.

If that's not what happened here, then there's a shocking level of naivete disqualifying of a steward.
