Werkgeversorganisatie VOKA wil niet dat de spoorbrug over de Maas in Maastricht gesloopt wordt en roept de Vlaamse en federale regering op om daarover te onderhandelen met Nederland. De brug is een cruciaal onderdeel van spoorlijn 20 tussen Lanaken en Maastricht. Die goederenspoorlijn werd in 2020 definitief gesloten. "Dat was een historische vergissing, we hebben die spoorlijn nodig om onze economie te verbinden met de Euregio Maas-Rijn", zegt VOKA Limburg.

@bvlg Ah, good! Any pressure to keep that bridge is welcome. I was told when I was in Maastricht last month all the demolition plans are currently on hold, which is progress of sorts!

@jon @bvlg Why does the article mention „the Iron rhine“ (Eiserner Rhein)? AFAIK that route goes via Roermond, not Maastricht?
