I've been thinking about this idea for a while now, and finally made it into a tiny prototype: transparent.html (https://relevant.space/transparent.html), or what code might look like when it becomes part of the design and experience. Not meant as a serious exploration, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

transparent.html

Transparency as a design principle. A self-referential experiment in making web infrastructure visible.

@bogusplum I'm looking at it in Firefox and at first I thought you'd broken the Web Inspector because it kept showing me things in the <head>. Then I got it. And now I'm amazed that this is possible.
@theotherbrook To be honest I was very excited when I first found out that it's possible to get them to display! And then maybe I took it a bit too far :D
@bogusplum There's no such things as going too far when playing with HTML display options!
