bluesky is now hosting accounts for White House, Homeland Security / ICE, Department of War, JD Vance etc which are posting fascist propaganda [1] this combined with numerous other failures like banning pro palestine accounts [2] banning trans activists for criticising jk rowling [3] and complying with turkish state censorship requests [4] leads me to finally recommend de-federation from all bluesky bridges
mastodon is non-profit bluesky is for profit and funded by billionaire ex twitter owner jack dorsey, so they will find some way to exploit their users for profit.

@hiphopheaven @xodus_online Yes, what is your opinion on things like mentioned in this post? https://social.growyourown.services/@FediTips/113896029909649321
There's nothing stopping Bluesky from becoming just as toxic a platform as the other commercial social media, if it's not there already.

Attached: 1 image I've had a lot of people ask how BlueSky compares to Mastodon and the Fediverse. I've tried to make the answer as simple and easy to understand as possible: π¦ BlueSky is designed to give corporations and wealthy people full control of the network. All of its traffic has to flow through expensive-to-run corporate relays. :Fediverse: The Fediverse is designed to give ordinary people control of the network. All of its traffic flows directly from one cheap-to-run server to another. #FediTips
@hiphopheaven Well, noβthat's the point. If you host your own Fediverse instance, no-one can "nuke" your content. Other instances could de-federate you, I suppose, but you're the only admin of your own instance, so whatever you post there cannot be censored.
("Rest in piss, Kirk" is also way less likely to be censored on the Fediverse than on Bluesky, I'd wager.)
@xodus_online @liaizon i could be wrong but i understand free our feeds is an independent org and not affiliated with bluesky.
might also want to contrast at protocol with activity pub regarding something like "social app development layer" versus "open protocol for social networking"
