Has Edinburgh Council gone completely mad? Not content with vandalising the gardens beside the Scott Monument they have now put military tub-thumping in St Andrews Square.
There is not a village in Scotland without its own war memorial. And to my certain knowledge at least seven separate war memorials in public areas in Edinburgh, not counting the war memorials in public buildings, schools universities etc.
Is that not enough?

@peterbrown When you ask who is paying for this, I think the reasonable response is: the soldiers have already paid, with their lives. We are just honouring their sacrifice.. Complaining about the number of memorial sites is just peevish. Is it so hard to show the families whose sons & daughters have died for their country some respect & gratitude.
