Realforce has released an R4 version of their main Topre keyboard. Smaller bezels (is that what they are called on a keyboard?) and a proximity sensor? Whatever I’ll probably get one.

More Topre news, the URSA keycaps are finally orderable. I’d like to get some but won’t because if I actually like them I’d have to spend > $500 in caps just to get enough matching sets.

@paul what is the proximity sensor doing?
@caleb I’m assuming waking up the keyboard if you are connected via BT.
@paul @caleb Logitech mx keyboards uses proximity sensing to turn on or off the backlight. Maybe they’re doing that here?
@via @caleb no RGB!
"A built-in proximity sensor detects when the user approaches, automatically waking the keyboard from standby mode to conserve battery power in wireless operation.”
@paul have you tried anything with Gateron KS-33 low profile switches yet? I have a Realforce, but prefer the Keychron low profile (banana).
@paul That's tempting, Realforce is probably my second-favourite one, but I can't imagine moving off from Apple Extended Keyboard II.
Once you're hung up on this AEKII high you just can't get off from it.
