CONNECT 26400/ARQ/V34/LAPM/V42BIS

this is a VoIP call to a location about 3000km away

@gewt 26.4/v34 over VoIP??
@cnd yes!
@gewt massively impressive, im lucky to get 1200 lol
@cnd i did very close to 56k for a few hours a couple weeks back
@cnd it helps the ISP is used almost exclusively for VoIP with minimal non-VoIP traffic and everything BUT the VoIP endpoints was internal TDM
@gewt what kind of modem? i mostly use a USR courier from '94
@cnd i use a weird Zoom USB one or a couriter v.everything, connected through a meridian analogue line card
@gewt i'd love to play with meridian, i have some incredibly dusty norstar stuff from some local business that shuttered and gave everything to goodwill

@cnd i've also got a definity serving other stuff too lol

but that's largely so i can use my early 90s vacuum fluorescent display phone

@gewt ever see the millennium desktop payphone? i would kill for one of these but theyre incredibly obscure compared to their full sized counterparts
@cnd yes! friend of mine has one but they're quite rare
@gewt crazy, theres little to no photos of them online
@cnd there's another thing i've been trying to ffind a single photo of for the past like, 13 years and so far have found NONE
@gewt what is it? curious
@cnd Power 6/32 minicomputer
@gewt i'll have to look, i actually have some old computer/electronics magazines and very old pins/buttons that mention power
