It hit me… this is our world in a nutshell. A sick one, where a woman’s supposed to fit into a pre-set role. So anything that doesn’t fit gets “amputated.”

Thank you! I was walking by a store and glanced at the mannequin; I was struck by its quiet despair and existential fatigue and took the picture.
The text was originally a response to a popular infographic which resurfaces once in a blue moon on social media, "The Gentleman's Guide to Amputation"; at the time I was thinking about women in Victorian era, but sadly there's never a shortage of Procrustean beds.
