Never cared much for Omarchy: It's being made by a right-wing dipshit with no experience with Linux and distributions who's whole "Opinion" seems to be that "90ies Hacker movie look" is what makes a good operating system.

But when I read this actual review https://マリウス.com/a-word-on-omarchy/ I was shocked by how bad it actually is: Technologically but also as an "opinionated Linux distribution". Sad to see that @frameworkcomputer tanked their reputation within their target audience in support of this underbaked Linux-Hacker-Cosplay thing.

A Word on Omarchy

An in-depth look at the currently trending Arch Linux configuration that is Omarchy.

@tante @frameworkcomputer Add to the fact that Framework then claimed it's not about politics but ALSO decided to support Hyprland which means....it's clearly about politics.

out of ALL the things relating to linux they could support them openly backing both Omarchy and Hyprland is so obvious in what they're trying to say. If they also came out in support of Kitty that would be the nail in the coffin.

Hell next thing you know they'll say TempleOS ain't that bad.
@rozodru Kitty is bad?
@davidculley the developer of Kitty has some "unique" takes.
@rozodru @davidculley What takes? I've only heard complaints that he (Kovid) is rude as a maintainer, which I'm going to ignore as something subjective.
@rozodru
I strongly disagree here. Framework also supports Gnome and KDE with yearly donations as well as other OSS projects. Did they screw up? Probably, but it doesn't mean that their sponsorship was about politics...
