Somebody found a #Bitcoin block by solo mining again! Block 920440 was mined exactly how mining is supposed to be done - the person used their own node and their own instance of public pool. No 3rd parties.

With a hashrate of 103 Th/s, they found a block whose hash satisfies a difficulty of 2.08P (!!!)

This is an extremely unlikely event. It would take on average 2700 years of 24/7 mining at that speed to find such a block.

And yet it happened! Tick tock, next block.

@Hashira don't give me hope, it'll just put my energy bills in the red lol
@profdiggity Are you mining with anything? The power costs can be brutal, yeah. Thinking about solar that could offset them. I wanna mine a Bitcoin block in my lifetime
@Hashira In the winter I run LTC + DOGE miners. Our solar plus the heat output makes it barely worth it... it used to be actually profitable a couple years back. I CPU mine XMR but that's also not about profit.
@profdiggity I hope you're doing solo or P2Pool ;)
