I can finally go full DIY with #mechanicalkeyboard - planning to build an 18-keys piano v2.

And it works! 18keys are a nice, but awkward feeling. So is learning ZMK. Debating if I should try to port it to qmk/vial instead

@zonorti you'll need to bodge some wired connection between halves for QMK support, and obviously swap out the controllers. But very doable.

@petejohanson oh, I see. That looks like too much to not learn ZMK. Original code from benvallack already works with latest ZMK, refactoring it to work with ZMK studio now.

@zonorti do note that many of the features you're apt to use on something that small are not (yet) supported by Studio, so probably best to get comfortable with our keymap file format for now.

@petejohanson besides studio there is no reason to aim for physical layouts?
