Rubbish handheld photo in the dark, showing #SeestarS30 telescope and a sky full of stars behind it. It’s bloody cold! #KielderStarcamp
@LDJ hope the images you get from the Seestar make it worthwhile enduring the cold!
@teapot_ben We can cheat a bit here - set up the scope in the cold, start the imaging and then just leave it going while we sit in the nice warm hut next to it! My stargazing accommodation while we’re up at Kielder:

@LDJ where's the fun in that when you could be outside in the freezing cold doing some observing? 😂
You might guess that I am very much a visual observer - smartscopes are amazing these days, but for me nothing beats seeing things through the eyepiece.

Also, I really hope the huts next to yours are called mushroom and snake!!

@teapot_ben That would be amazing 😂 The next hut is called ‘Deer’ because local wildlife, but I’m starting a petition for mushroom and snake! Now I’ve got the song in my head 🐍🐍

I’m also a visual observer and you’re right, nothing beats seeing it yourself. It never gets old seeing Saturn’s rings either.

I’ve got plenty time out in the cold tonight, believe me! Also got some decent binoculars and lots of friends on the site with high powered visual scopes.
